for percussion duo

Golden Gate (2019) is an exciting piece I wrote for percussion duo. This piece was commissioned by Spectrum Ensemble, an LGBTQ+ ensemble based in Denton, TX. When Jaime Esposito, the co-founder, contacted me to write a piece for them and Stephen Hall, I was both excited and frightened to write this piece. This piece just so happened to be the second commission I've ever received in my (very) early career as a composer, and I wanted to make it a great one.

Golden Gate was such a fun piece to write and features lots of tricky passages for both players that result in a very energetic performance.
